Official Description:

Centuries ago, Meryn was thought to be utterly lost–all traces of his soul given up to the ravening goblin horde. But with the curse that enslaved him now broken, he must once again learn to walk in the realm of men. Nurse Nadine Gilbert likes working the night shift to avoid her disturbing dreams, but her mysterious new patient looks hauntingly familiar. Meryn knows he doesn’t deserve a second chance, but Nadine brings out his long-buried human side. Telling her the truth about his violent past could destroy their fragile trust. Could she ever believe in the love of a Goblin Warrior?

My thoughts:

A welcome third book in this Shadowlands Trilogy.

Ms Husk’s writing just gets better and her characters are well-rounded. I probably wanted a bit more conflict and a bigger black moment to draw it out a bit longer but after the life he’d led, Merryn certainly deserves a better life and Nadine deserves a happily ever after. The magic and the mundane (every day life) mix so well in this book. An enjoyable read.

My Thoughts:

Before diving into my thoughts on the actual content, I just want to draw attention to the cover of this book. If that doesn’t make you want to read it, I don’t know what would! This book is also the third in the Shadowlands series and I promise the first two covers are just as sexy!

Although I have ogled the first two covers of the Shadowlands series, I have not read them. I went into this reading it as a standalone. I generally like reading series in succession as opposed to picking up just one, but For the Love of a Goblin Warrior definitely stands up on its own. There were only a few instances in which I felt I needed clarification that would have came from reading the first two, but nothing that really affected my reading experience.

For the Love of a Goblin Warrior is a great combination of romance and page turning twists. If you like your leading men dark and brooding than you will love Meryn. His character was a great mix of sweet with an edge and his tortured past will have you rooting for him throughout the entire book. Our leading lady, Nadine, was also a great balance of strong but vulnerable. The author did a great job building their romance and there are some super hot scenes. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed with their chemistry!

Besides the obvious romance part of the novel, there is also a great storyline going on between Nadine and her father. This adds another great layer to the entire book and ties everything together nicely.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance and wants to try something new. This was my first book involving goblins and I was very intrigued with the history behind the goblins and Meryn’s tribe, the Decangli. I would recommend this book as a standalone but I don’t doubt that the first two are just as dark and romantic!
